This work is a polemic against Ernest Mandel’s work “Socialist Democracy and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat”. Moreno denounced Mandel’s capitulation to bourgeois democracy, to which the leadership of the American SWP had joined, and his abandonment of the Marxist conception of the dictatorship of the proletariat.
